WBA #3 Barashian Stops WBA #4 Ulrich

February 25, 2008 - WBA #3 Light Heavyweight Yuri Barashian (25-2, 17 KOs) from Ukraine stopped WBA #4 Thomas Ulrich from Germany (31-4, 21 KOs) in the eighth round in a fight held last Saturday at the Sporthalle Brandberge in Halle, Germany.

It was a brutal fight from the very beginning as Ulrich aggressively went for the victory as Barashian took a counterattack stance, with both contenders clearly landing their punches throughout.

However, Barashian ended up being more effective by connecting vicious combinations both to the head and body of his opponent.

Barashian put Ulrich on the canvas three times in the seventh round with great hooks to the liver and finished Ulrich off in the eighth with the same punch. The EBU Light Heavyweight title was at stake.
